Differences and Similarities of Procedure Text and Explanation Text

Differences

Procedure text is text that contains the objectives and steps to carry out an activity so that the activity will succeed. With the procedure text it is hoped that the reader will understand in detail how to do things. And it is hoped that if the reader does the activity, he will succeed in doing it with satisfying results. An example of procedure text is a text read by a chef who demonstrates how to make certain foods on a television program.

Explanation text is text that describes the process of an event or describes a situation. Explanation texts tell a fact of events and scientifically express them. The explanatory text is not intended to influence the reader's opinion, but only to provide information. An example of this text is the text about the process of the occurrence of the rainbow, how the eye works and so on.

Similarities

The equation is the same text that explains "how" something can happen. There are facts in both texts. The so-called facts in the scientific or scientific sense. Both texts are not used to influence readers by the opinions expressed by the author. Can be used to outline the steps that must be taken to perform an action using a chronological development pattern
